If you are new to the coupon world or just refreshing, this post is going to be basic, but very exciting! Most coupons expire at the end of the month, but many, many coupons expire on the last day of the year, which means many collections of coupons are now slim! So if saving money and learning to coupon this year is on top of your list, you are starting at the right time. We are going to start with the inserts you find in your Sunday paper. Generally SmartSource, Red Plum, and P&G (Proctor and Gamble) are the inserts you will receive! You can find out which inserts we will be getting for 2012 here! This Sunday we will have 6! That’s right 6- (1) Red Plum, (2) SmartSource, (1) Target, (1) General Mills, (1) Walmart! What this means is that many companies are starting to fight for our dollars, fine by me if there is coupons involved!
Some coupon experts suggest you should purchase one paper for each member of your family. I stick with- if it is a good week I have one delivered to my door and buy one more at the store. This theory works great when 2 for a certain dollar amount is the sale! But, be weary as well, sometimes they don’t have all the inserts at the stores, not that people take them, but the regular subscribers get better deals!
